onto the Staten Island boat ferry which regularly departs from South Ferry
to Staten Island. The ferry traverses daily passing Liberty Island and
Ellis Island on route to the Island. Rides are free and take approximately
20 minutes each way, but you will have to disembark at each end whether
or not you intend to visit the Island. The nearest Metro station is on
the Green Line No 5 till the South Ferry terminal and Staten Ferry entrance
is a short walk away.
