Brooklyn Bridge is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful
bridges in the world and offers one of the most impressive views of Lower
Manhattan for pedestrians from their elevated position above the traffic.
Spanning 478 m it takes approximately 20 minutes to walk across to Brooklyn
from the start of the pedestrian walkway on Park Row. In bygone times Brooklyn bridge has also carried horses, trolleys, trains and streetcars. In 1983 it became a National Historic Engineering Landmark.
