Newark Airport (EWR)

Newark is New York's second International airport offering flights to New York. Newark New York airport is almost a similar distance from New York city (Manhattan Island) as JFK at 16 miles but is located in New Jersey. Newark is served by many of the major airlines including British Airways, Continental and United which often offer cheap holidays to New York.

Newark International Airport's Ground Transportation Centre is just past luggage reclaim where you can book a variety of different methods of transport into New York. This New York travel centre also includes car rental and limousine courtesy phones. New York car rental firms such as Avis, Budget and Dollar all include courtesy phones in the ground transportation area. Outside of the terminals taxi's are readily available for travel to the city - beware anyone who approaches you without ID as they are likely to charge exorbitant prices and be uninsured.

The Ground Transportation Centre also includes information on all buses and shuttle minibus taxi travel into New York. Whilst buses are cheaper the door-to-door service offered by minibus taxis the latter are not much more expensive so well worth the additional outlay.
